It’s Not As Hard As You Think To Make Money on eBay

If you're looking to make money on eBay and you want to know what items are the hottest sellers, you should know that it can be a rather tedious task to research what items will sell and what won't. Designer clothes and accessories, jewelry, cell phones and antiques are some of the more popular items, as are videogames and game consoles. Of course, you don't often find antiques on eBay for wholesale prices.

If you want to sell the popular items on eBay, you can consider looking for those items at wholesalers. A smart eBay seller will do his/her research before investing any sum of money on wholesale goods. If you are going to invest any money in wholesale items, you should invest in the popular items that sell well.

After careful research, decide on which item you would like to sell. Then research which wholesaler will give you the best price. Start your research with liquidators, because more often than not, you will get the best deal from them. Look for large quantities of designer name brands because you will make more profit with a designer label.

You must be careful in choosing from whom you are going to buy. This is because there are a lot of duplicate products in the market and you should not get stuck with a load of fake goods. Wholesale dealers are listed online and you should verify their credentials before negotiating with them.

Drop shippers are another effective source for acquiring wholesale items. These drop shippers are willing to sell you small quantities of items and ship them directly to your customers. This means that you can save a lot on overhead since you won't have to store a huge array of goods and supplies.

Another advantage of using a drop shipper is that you can often negotiate favorable payment terms. To wit, many times you won't have to pay them unless and until you get the money from your customers. However, always contact your drop shipper directly to insure that he has available supplies, and to agree on a price.

One disadvantage of using a drop shipper is that the price you'll have to pay will be higher than that which you might be able to get on wholesale. If you have the requisite amount of storage space and can sell small items like jewelry, and if you have the cash to invest, your profits will be higher when you buy large quantities in advance.

One way to get your feet wet in the eBay wholesale/drop ship arena is to buy a few drop ship samples. That way, you can rest assured that these items will sell. Then, you can stock up on larger supplies.

How to Find Websites for Sale

Although you could build a website from scratch, you've made the choice to purchase an existing one. Or, you are an investor looking to "flip" a website after enhancing its value. Either way, you now have to find a website to buy.

Your first task is to outline what you are looking for as a website can be used for many different reasons. Some of the purposes include an established database of clients for your product or services, an income from others with links on the website, to hold the domain name for an anticipated future trend, to enhance then resell at a profit, or to sell to a larger competitor down the road. Now that you know what you want it to do you know what to look for.

You may be able to find a website on a website - one that brings buyers and sellers together. Most of these will not be bargains and thus not usually a good source for a "flipper."However, they are not without value to the buyer looking for specific attributes or results.

Another handy source are the usual Internet search engines. It stands to reason that the first sites you'll see are the well managed ones that will prove to be pricey or not even available for purchase. While this may be what fits your strategy, chances are you will need to go deeper into the web. The deeper you go, the lower the page rank but this is where the bargains are and with some time and enhancements these are the sites that can be built into stronger sites. You should still look at those first searches, however, as they can assist you with your own enhancements.

A prime element of purchasing real estate is location - with a website it is research. Unless you are buying with the short-term goal to flip, you are buying to own not rent, and just as you would take more diligence in buying a house over renting an apartment, you need to take the time to research.

Research each site that you think might fit the bill carefully. Take your time when exploring the site - read the forums, check the links, determine the history.Don't be afraid to ditch one if something is beyond repairing through your enhancement plan - better to walk away before money is on the table.

Mistakes get made every day from people buying websites but you can minimize these by being careful and patient.

Different Kinds Of eBay Selling Strategies

eBay is a high paced, competitive, auction based website that serves millions of customers. Anyone can become a seller, but becoming a successful seller on Ebay can be tough without the right guidance. You will be competing against power sellers and other businesses that have been selling on eBay for years.

Thus the focus is on selling strategies which are about how to sell or not to sell what kind of product to be profitable.

A eBay beginner can even be helped by the strategies. You will find the strategies simple and easy to understand.

Product knowledge is another important factor as you should be able to state the appropriate price and the relevant description for it. If the customer is not satisfied about the delivery of the service such as the product presentation, it will not sell well.

The legal framework is the third factor to consider as eBay has its own online legislation to be followed.

Selling illegal items is not advised. eBay will terminate your account and may even pass your details on to law enforcements. There is a list of items that eBay accepts people to sell on the site, ensure you know what is banned.

Buying items at a wholesale price and reselling at a higher price does not work. This is because if you can buy them at the lower price, so can other people. The best strategy is to auction them off at a lower price than the market, more customers will be willing to buy that way.

Therefore, by bearing in mind these several important factors for selling, mainly product knowledge, salesmanship, legislation and auctioning, it is possible to earn a profit and maintain a successful business on eBay. Then, you can finally live the dream of being able to work from the comfort of your own home. This is something that a lot of people will never achieve.

If you want to learn more about this, then you need to check out making money on eBay.

Succeed As An EBay Affiliate

EBay was created in September 1995 by Pierre Omidyar. EBay, an online marketplace, was one of the first websites of its kind in the world. The site was originally named AuctionWeb. The name 'eBay' came from the domain Omidyar used for his site. His company's name was Echo Bay. The first thing ever sold on eBay was Omidyar's broken laser pointer for $14.

It didn't take EBay long to became massively popular. Sellers began listing all sorts of odd things and buyers actually bought them. The site could almost be left alone to run itself. EBay had been designed from the start to collect a small fee on each sale. When the fees became more than Omidyar's current salary, he decided to quit his job and work on the site full-time. In 1996, to make buying and selling safer, he added feedback facilities to let buyers and sellers rate each other.

In 1997, Omidyar changed AuctionWeb's name to eBay. He spent a lot of money on advertising and had the eBay logo designed. It was in this year that the one-millionth item was sold.

EBay became a massive site with people selling more than just collectibles. You could sell anything, large or small. In 1998 eBay became big business.

In 1999 eBay went worldwide with sites being launched in Australia, the UK and Germany. EBay bought half.com, an Amazon-like online retailer, in the year 2000. The same year it introduced Buy it Now. In 2002 eBay bought PayPal.

Pierre Omidyar has earned an estimated $3 billion from eBay and still serves as Chairman of the Board. All over the world, millions of items are bought and sold every day on eBay. It is estimated that $14 is spent on eBay for every $100 spent online worldwide.

Now that you know the history of eBay, perhaps you'd like to know how it could work for you? People are making great money from eBay. It isn't unusual to hear of people making thousands of dollars per month. Even if you don't want to quit your job and really go for it, you can still use eBay to make a significant second income.

Remember, there is always someone who wants what you're selling. Since they come to you, you don't even need to do anything to get them to buy it. If you can post things, you can do it. EBay tears down the barriers that the real world constantly puts up. EBay does not care who you are, where you live, or what you look like. You can forget the job interview and forget the commute.

Succeed as an EBay Affiliate and build a successful online niche business for yourself. For more EBay information, visit the Skysuccess Marketing site. You will be glad you did!

Selling Clothes Online Doesn’t Have To Be Hard

Many people are affected by the recession that's hit so hard. They are without jobs and struggling to make ends meet. New sources of income are necessary, and they're busy seeking them.

One lucrative idea is to start an online business. Being an online clothes wholesaler is a nice business to start because people will always need clothes and will try to buy them inexpensively.

Unlike a street store where you need to pay rent and stock items in such a way that people can browse, an online store requires only your presence and items you can get your hands on. You can choose from specific populations to sell clothes to or sell to all of them, whether they be women, men, teens, or children.

You can do an online search for a wholesale directory. Then you can write to the individual wholesalers and choose one who's reputable. Be sure to do your research on this so you don't get scammed.

Pricing of clothes is very important in a business that has stiff competition. Too high prices will put your sales at risk and make you suffer thereby. Even with a good or reasonable profit margin, ensure that the clothes are sold for reasonable or low prices to attract customers and boost sales.

Starting a wholesale drop ship business is yet another option you can exercise if you want to run your own Internet concern. Having a wholesale drop ship partner obviates the need to keep an inventory, as your wholesaler will do the job for you. The only thing you have to do is list the inventory on your website.

Don't forget to mention and include the profit margin and shipping charges in your price list. On getting an order from the customer, the payment should be collected by you and then the order should be transferred to the wholesale drop shipper. The items will be directly delivered to the buyer by the wholesale drop shipper. The wholesale drop shipper will then bill you for the wholesale price. This is the sales procedure to be followed in this business.

Owning and running this kind of business is one of the safest bets around. Why? For one thing, you don't have to pay for the product until you receive payment from a customer. Since your job is to generate as many sales as possible, your profit margin gets bigger each time you make a sale. It works out extremely well for the wholesaler who can increase sales with no additional financial obligation to themselves. Lots of people are making some serious cash in this business, and so can you!

Selling on eBay – Getting Connected

So you're starting your eBay business? That's awesome. And as I've said many times before, I think that eBay is the fastest and easiest way to get started selling online. No other website can even touch the $60 billion marketplace that is eBay.

However, what many beginners forget is that in order to be successful online, you can't be a lone ranger. Sure you can run a successful eBay business from your home, but if you're in business, you'll have to connect with other businesses. To get the maximum profits, it's likely that you'll have to deal with other big businesses that aren't home based.

The best way to get what you want in life is to help other people get what they want. From the moment you start your business, you need to remember that you are only in business as long as you're helping your customers. What's the quickest way to see if you're helping enough people? Check how much money you have in your bank account. If your bank balance is low, then you're not helping many people. If you want to grow your bank balance, you need to help more people.

So what's the best way to help and connect with people? Get out there. Talk to local store owners. Go to business luncheons in your community. Carry your business cards around with you everywhere. Let everyone know that you sell on eBay, not just friends and family.

The more you get connected with people in your community, the more opportunities you have for you to help them (and them to help you). Think about businesses that you could help. Could you help them sell excess inventory? Are there other local businesses that need help to sell their products online? What about individuals that may need their antiques sold? When you start looking around, you'll see opportunities all around you.

The bottom line? Get connected with people. The more connections you make, the more people you can help. The more people you can help, the more successful you'll become.

Never Run Out Of eBay Products

Let's say you're just getting started on eBay. You've opened up your account and now you're looking for something to sell. If you've already followed our advice to sell the stuff around your house you may be wondering what to sell next. Sure, your attic and closets may be clean, and you've gotten rid of the clutter, but now what?

The lifeblood of your eBay business is products. If you have no products to sell, you're not in business. So, how would you like an unlimited supply of products when you're getting started?

If so, then you should consider becoming an eBay Trading Assistant. A Trading Assistant is someone who "assists" another person sell an item on eBay. This means that you'll take care of everything related to selling for that other person. You'll take the pictures, write the descriptions, set the pricing and everything. So if your Aunt Gertrude wants you to sell her antiques on eBay, the you'll be a Trading Assistant to her.

Now since your Aunt Gertrude is so dear to you, you might do this for free. For other people in your community, you'd likely charge them a commission for your time and energy. Or, you could buy their products and resell them yourself.

It's really that simple to have an unlimited supply of products. Everyone you can think of has something extra cluttering up their house. Why not help them get rid of it (and help yourself in the process)? eBay estimates that most people have over $1000 worth of items around the house that are being unused. You can easily see that tapping into this for just a few people will keep you busy for weeks to come.

Now if you choose to be a Trading Assistant, there are two ways to do it. First, you can do it the "official way" by registering on eBay. This allows you to be listed in the eBay Trading Assistant directory, but in order to do this, you need to meet a few requirements. You need to have a feedback score of 100 with 98% positive feedback, have sold 10 items in the previous 3 months, and have your eBay account in good standing. For more information, you can go to www.tradingassistant.com.

If you don't meet eBay's requirements, however, don't let that discourage you. You can still be a Trading Assistant "unofficially." eBay can't stop you from helping other people sell on eBay. The only real difference between being "offical" or "unofficial" is whether or not you can use eBay's official Trading Assistant logo and be listed in the directory of Trading Assistants (so others can go onto eBay and find you). But regardless of whether you choose to be official or not, it's always up to you to find who you can help.

Here are some ways you can promote yourself as a Trading Assistant. First, get the word out. Ask your neighbors if they have anything to sell on eBay. Talk to your friends about it. The more people know that you are the guy (or gal) to go to for selling on eBay, then the more products you'll have to sell. You can also post flyers around town, or put a classified ad in the paper advertising your services.

So what's the conclusion? There's really no end of products you can sell when you become a Trading Assistant. You'll be the person everyone turns to when they have a question about eBay.

How To Find Your eBay Niche

After you've gained some experience selling on eBay, you need to ask yourself what product category you want to focus on. Since you can buy and sell almost anything on eBay, there are hundreds of thousands of options to choose from.

Back just a few short years ago, I was getting started. I didn't know what I wanted to sell. How did I decide? Well, let me tell you a bit about me. I'm a gadget geek. I know what electronics are going to come out before they do. I watch the gadget blogs. I keep tabs on what Apple is doing, and know when they are going to upgrade their iPhones. It's a hobby of mine.

It's a natural progression for me to go from looking at the latest and greatest gizmos to start to sell consumer electronics on eBay. Some of the first items I sold on eBay were electronics related. A PlayStation 2, an old Gameboy and other computer games. I knew that electronics was my forte. Soon (after clearing out the house from sellable electronics and random items) we found an electronics wholesaler. We started to sell webcams and other computer accessories. We still sell some of the same types of products to this day.

How does this story help you? Ask yourself... what do you like? Selling what you like will make your research and product buying a whole lot easier. Remember that whatever product category you choose to sell in, you'll be spending a lot of time working and figuring out what to sell. If you sell the types of products that you're already interested in, then the "work" of talking to suppliers and researching will be easier. (An added bonus is that if you sell what you like, you can always have one for yourself.))

Now, if you're just getting started on eBay, you need to realize that nothing is fixed in stone. If you have no idea what you like or what you could sell on eBay, the main thing to do is get started. Choose a category that you think you can develop. You can always change later if you don't know for sure. The main goal is to get moving forward.

Think about an airplane taking off from an airport. Does it always take off in the exact direction that it will end up? No. Most planes take off not pointed in the direction they eventually want to go, but when they are in the air, the pilot can make course adjustments. This applies to your business as well. Don't worry if you take off in a different direction than you want to go. The main point when you're a beginner is to get off the ground, and you do this by selling whatever you can at first. Once you're in the air, then you can change the direction you're going.

The most important thing you can do as a beginner is to just get going. If you choose to travel in too many directions at once, you'll never get anywhere. Sell stuff around your house. Then once you've run out of stuff to sell, think about what you'd like to sell. Just choose something (maybe based on your hobbies) so you have a direction to move in.
