Fast Track Your eBay Business

November 30th, 2009 by Jesse Holmes

When we were first learning how to sell on eBay, there's one thing more than any other that contributed to our success.

It was in our first year of "business" on eBay, meaning we had spent lots of time and money trying to learn how to start our eBay business but we didn't actually take any action yet.

(Isn't it funny how determined you can be to get started at something, and how you can learn everything about a subject... but it doesn't matter until you actually get started with it?)

We were learning from some top experts everything we could ever want about starting an eBay business, but we never took action to get started. We kept procrastinating and learning more and more without actually doing what was taught.

Not taking action is probably the biggest barrier you'll face when you want to start to make money online. Learning as much as you can about the topic makes you feel like you're accomplishing something. The more you learn, the closer you think you're getting to your goal. That's not true. The only way you'll get closer to your goal is to put in the work that is necessary to get you to your goal.

How do you break free from just learning and not doing? Let me share with you how we went from $0 to a profitable $3,000 a month eBay business in less than 60 days.

What was it? Well, our mentors created a contest. They said that the first person who could sell $1,000 in one month would win a cash prize.

I'm not saying that entering a contest is going to make you successful. It's much more than that. It wasn't about winning the prize or even what we were going to do with the prize money once we won. It was just a goal with a tangible outcome that we believed in and were determined to hit.

So we pushed for the contest. We pulled all the strings we could to start selling. We did more things that month than the previous six months combined. Long story short, we didn't even win the contest, but it set us up for something bigger than we could imagine.

We accomplished a greater goal than we thought possible. We were only a few bucks short of $1,000 that first month, and the following month we sold $3,000 and were actually turning a profit. We literally built an entire eBay business and money making system in less than 60 days.

So what does this mean for someone who wants to learn how to sell?

It means that if you've been struggling to get started, then you need to change the way you think. The greatest thing you can do to guarantee your success is to have an attitude of commitment. It's really amazing what you can achieve when you're absolutely certain that starting an eBay business will change your life. It won't matter what the economy is doing... you'll be making a passive income for yourself.

Now, keep in mind it's not all going to happen overnight. You're not a sprinter, you're a marathon runner. You need to have training from someone who can be your coach. Just like an athlete only improves if they train, you need to train for selling on eBay. Follow the training to the letter.

Always remember that success leaves a trail. If you follow in the footprints of someone who is making money online, you can be a success as well.
